Description du produit

Cobi 5744 II WW Iljušin Il-2 Šturmovik, 1:32, 636 k, 2 f

One of the most famous combat aircraft of the Second World War, the IL-2M3, was designed and serially produced in the USSR from 1941. The production of Il-2 was discontinued several years after the war. A total of about 36,000 of these aircraft were produced. The original versions were replaced in 1943 by two-seater aircraft IL-2M3 with more powerful engines and improved armament. The most important improvement was the change in the angle of the wing sweep, which were made of duralumin. They acquired a very characteristic shape resembling an "arrow".

The Il-2M3 aircraft were armed with four Polish air attack regiments fighting on the Eastern Front in the spring of 1945. On May 1, 1945, there were 158 IL-2M3 in the Polish Air Force. Since 1949, the IL-2M3 aircraft began to be gradually phased out of service in the Polish Air Force and were replaced by more modern attack aircraft Il-10. The aircraft exhibited in the museum served in the 3rd Air Attack Regiment.

The IL-M3 aircraft was designed from COBI building blocks in a scale of 1:32 using completely new elements. One of the few original aircraft is on an outdoor display at the Polish Army Museum in Warsaw. It was used as a model for this set. The block model offers many movable elements such as a rotating propeller, movable wing flaps, and wheels with rubber tires that can be folded into a horizontal position. Details and post-war colors of the aircraft and armament (including rockets) were reproduced. The blue underside with checkerboard markings attracts attention. The cockpit cover has been redesigned and can be opened to seat pilot and gunner figures. Thanks to a special stand with a plaque naming the aircraft and a place to attach figures, the whole set looks fantastic!

A very attractive addition is a historical map depicting the borders and name of Poland before the unfavorable territorial exchange with the USSR, which took place on February 15, 1951.

The model uses durable prints and historical markings. The set complements a collection of iconic aircraft issued in a scale of 1:32, intended for history enthusiasts, military technology fans, and fans of the highest quality block modeling!
