One of the most famous aircraft of the Second World War, the IL-2, was designed and serially produced in the USSR from 1941. Production of the following versions of the Il-2 was discontinued just a few years after the war. A total of about 36,000 of these aircraft were produced. The initial versions struggled with many problems and were replaced in 1942-43 by Il-2 aircraft with a two-member crew, more powerful engines, and reinforced armament. This model features the original wing design, which was completely different from the slightly later IL-2M3 model, which had a more aggressive angle of attack. In the West, the aircraft gained the popular name "Shturmovik."

The IL-2 aircraft was designed from COBI building blocks in a 1:32 scale using new elements. The block model offers many moving parts such as a rotating propeller, movable wing flaps, and wheels with rubber tires that can be folded into a horizontal position. Details and historical winter camouflage were reproduced. The blue underside of the aircraft definitely catches the eye. The cockpit cover has been redesigned and can be opened to seat pilot and gunner figures. Thanks to a special stand with a nameplate of the aircraft and a place to attach the figures, the whole set looks fantastic! The model uses durable prints and historical markings. The set complements the collection of aircraft from World War II released in a 1:32 scale, intended for history enthusiasts.
